Mr. Thomas is President of Utility Electrical Consultants, PC in Raleigh, NC.  UEC is a consulting firm providing engineering services to rural electric cooperatives, municipal electric systems and other owners of medium and high voltage facilities.  Before founding UEC in 1995, Mr. Thomas provided consulting services to a similar client base for 17 years.  Previously, he was employed in various engineering and operational positions for 14 years with Piedmont EMC (Hillsborough, NC) and with Duke Power.

Mr. Thomas received his BSCE degree from North Carolina State of the University of North Carolina at Raleigh (now known as North Carolina State University) in 1964.  He is a registered professional engineer in North Carolina and 10 other states and is a Member of American Society of Civil Engineers and a Life Senior Member of IEEE.
