Position: Mike is a principal distribution engineer for the NRECA T&D Engineering section of Energy Policy department in Arlington, VA.
Industry Experience:

In that function he works with the NRECA Substation Subcommittee, the Underground Line Subcommittee, Overhead Lines Subcommittee, Avian Power Line Interaction Committee (APLIC), IEEE Rural Electric Power Committee, NESC Code Committees, various IEEE Standards Committees, manages the NEETRAC project for NRECA and represents NRECA on the Distribution Asset Life Cycle Management group of the Center for Energy Advancement through Technological Innovation.  He is the former NRECA liaison to the Supply Chain Management Community for electric cooperatives.  In 2005 he started working with the Wind Power America program and the Geo Powering the West program.   He has been with NRECA November 2000.

Prior to NRECA:
He worked seventeen years for Ozarks Electric Cooperative Corporation in Fayetteville, Arkansas as the manager of engineering department.
He   worked four years as a distribution engineer for First Electric Cooperative in Jacksonville, AR.
He worked six years in electrical distribution sales.
He worked five years as a field service engineer for Westinghouse Electric Corporation covering the southwest in installation and repair of Westinghouse electric power equipment.

Education:

He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a BS in Electrical Engineering and is a registered professional engineer, a certified energy manager.
